The 9K31 Strela-1 is a highly mobile, short-range, low altitude infra-red guided surface-to-air missile system. "9K31" is its GRAU designation. Its NATO reporting name is SA-9 "Gaskin". Each TEL consists of two pairs of ready-to-fire 9M31 missiles mounted in boxes on either side of a turret on a BRDM-2 amphibious vehicle.

The 9K35 Strela-10 is a highly mobile, visually-aimed, optical/infra-red guided, low-altitude, short-range surface to air missile system. "9K35" is its GRAU designation; its NATO reporting name is SA-13 "Gopher".

The MT-LB (A multi-purpose light-armoured towing vehicle) is a Soviet multi-purpose fully-amphibious armoured personnel carrier which was first introduced in the 1970s. Initially the vehicle was known as M 1970 in the west.
